Art In Bloom

As an artist, Eric Matelski is always looking for new ways to promote his work. After attending classes through Denver Urban Gardens, he came up with the idea to merge two of his passions into a series of garden shows called Art Farm. “It’s pretty cool, because it’s just a one-day-only show,” Matelski says of each presentation. “The best part is the relaxation element. Everybody seems to chill out, relax and enjoy the artwork a little bit more. What we do is try to make sure it’s not garden art. We’re trying to take a non-typical gallery space and create a gallery for a day.”

Full Bloom, on display from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Beeler Street Garden, 1675 Beeler Street in Aurora, is free and will include snacks from Whole Foods and music from Chris Lawhead. More than a dozen artists will show their work. Donations to the non-profit Denver Urban Gardens — which assists in the creation and management of more than sixty metro-area community gardens and small parks, many in low-income neighborhoods — will be accepted.
